Description

The course is an overview of Human infections by Acanthamoeba and includes classification, epidemiology, and pathogenicity. Characteristic morphology and appearance of Acanthamoeba forms that enable diagnosis in histological preparations will be presented.

2. Review of classification, morphology, epidemiology, and pathogenicity of Acanthamoebiasis.

3. Review of clinical syndromes including amebic keratitis, granulomatous amebic encephalitis, and disseminated acanthamebiasis.

4. Review of role of immunity in clinical infection with Acathamoeba.
